The Pinecone Treehouse
Designer and builder Dustin Feider started O2 Treehouse with the intention to inspire people to
reconsider how we can more harmlessly co-exist with nature. O2 Treehouse was born in 2005
when Dustin Feider built his first geodesic structure 50 feet up in a Poplar tree in Pewaukee,
Wisconsin.
The Pinecone treehouse is the result of O2 Treehouse being given nearly full creative autonomy to build the treehouse of their dreams. The five and a half ton steel and wood geodesic pine cone shaped behemoth comes complete with a skillfully hand-crafted indoor/outdoor off-grid bathroom connected to the treehouse via a wooden catwalk.
The structure is 22' high by 14' diameter. It’s suspended between 5 giant redwood trees and hangs over 30' off the ground on the uphill side and 50' off the ground on the down hill side. It has 56 laser cut welded steel diamond forms, wood window frames, and plexiglass windows. This unique structure was built with the intention of immersing all who enter in the boundless beauty of the natural world.

Launched in mid-September on the StartEngine platform, the O2 Treehouse campaign has raised more than $110,000 so far, with the backing of 220 investors. “The momentum of this campaign has truly blown us away,” says O2 Treehouse owner and CEO Dustin Feider. “We have received an incredible amount of interest in our hospitality franchise sector (over 100 interested locations and counting), and we can't wait to get to work on all of these amazing spots around the globe.” With their custom treehouses, the O2T team of builders, designers, and engineers use features like large windows and patio doors to create a sense of flow between the outdoors and the indoors. The goal of the Treewalkers franchise is to give investors, whether owners of a single unit or an entire village, the opportunity to offer travelers a
unique experience, immersed in nature.
“We know that many people, with their busy lives, struggle to reconnect with the
